What is Cash-Generating Unit?
A cash-generating unit, defined in IAS 36, is the smallest identifiable group of assets that generates cash inflows largely independent of those from other assets or groups. When an individual asset cannot be tested alone, impairment is assessed at the level of its cash-generating unit, and any loss is allocated across that unit.
