What is Days Payable Outstanding?
An efficiency measure showing the average number of days a business takes to pay its suppliers, calculated as average trade payables divided by credit purchases, multiplied by the number of days in the period. A higher figure means the company holds onto cash longer, which can aid liquidity but may strain supplier relationships if stretched too far.
