What is Documentary Collection?
A trade-finance method where banks handle shipping and title documents to help complete an international sale, but without guaranteeing payment. The exporter's bank forwards documents to the importer's bank, which releases them against payment or acceptance of a bill of exchange. It is cheaper than a letter of credit but offers the exporter less security. It follows ICC collection rules.
