What is Excise Tax?
An indirect tax the UAE levies on specific goods considered harmful to health or the environment, such as tobacco products, energy drinks, carbonated drinks and certain sweetened or vaping products. Rates differ by product and the tax is administered by the Federal Tax Authority (FTA). Confirm the current list of excise goods and the applicable rates with the FTA.
