What is Exempt Supply?
A supply that falls outside the scope of VAT, so no VAT is charged on it. In the UAE this can include certain financial services, residential property leases and local passenger transport. Unlike zero-rated supplies, input VAT linked to exempt supplies is generally not recoverable. Confirm the current categories and recovery rules with the FTA.
