What is Return on Investment?
ROI is a profitability measure that compares the gain or loss from an investment with its cost, usually expressed as a percentage. It is calculated as net profit from the investment divided by the investment cost, times 100. ROI helps compare opportunities, but it ignores the timing of cash flows, so it is often used alongside NPV and IRR.
