What is Impairment Indicator?
An impairment indicator is an internal or external sign that an asset may be carried above its recoverable amount, such as a market decline, obsolescence, physical damage or rising interest rates. Under IAS 36, the presence of any indicator triggers a formal impairment test comparing carrying amount with recoverable amount.
