What is Completeness Assertion?
The completeness assertion is the claim that all transactions, balances and disclosures that should be recorded have been included, with nothing omitted. Auditors test completeness to detect understatement, for example unrecorded liabilities or sales, often by tracing source documents forward into the accounting records and reviewing cut-off.
