What is Valuation Assertion?
The valuation and allocation assertion is the claim that assets, liabilities and equity are included in the financial statements at appropriate amounts, with any resulting adjustments properly recorded. Auditors test valuation by reviewing estimates, impairment, provisions and measurement bases, which often involve significant judgement and risk.
